New Car

Well... it was time to get rid of Kathleen's Mustang Convertible - just doesn't make sense for us to keep it anymore. So, we traded it in and got a 2006 Honda Accord - a sensible, reliable car. Only has 33,000 miles. There's still over 4 years and 65,000 miles left on the warranty. The dealer has a really good service department and we get free inspections for life there. There's so much room in the car! Especially compared to the Mustang and the Sentra - lots of room for a baby seat in the back seat and strollers in the trunk!

Kathleen @ 24 Weeks

Phil's been able to feel Owen moving a few times now. Last night, he had his hand on Kathleen's belly and his hand visibly bumped up when Owen kicked.

Welcome to the New Peep!

Kathleen had her first shower while we were out in WV. The theme was peeps (since peeps are from Bethlehem and we have a little peep on the way). We brought some chocolate-covered peeps (from the Chocolate Lab in Bethlehem). They were a big hit: delicious and beautifully decorated!

Thanks to everyone who was able to make it to the shower and for all of the gifts! We got a ton of clothes, including a lot of great hand-me-downs (Thanks, Beth!). We're probably all set with 0-6 month clothes. So, if you're still going to get us a gift... we need baby toys and baby gear (see our Target registry). If you really want to get Baby Owen some clothes, we could use some clothes for 6 months and older. And of course, we can always use extra clothes (if you already bought something).

All of the pictures of the shower are available online at:

We're Home!

We had a nice Easter holiday visit with Kathleen's parents in WV. We did some shopping for Owen while we were there. And Kathleen collected some books for Owen from her parents' house - including some old childhood books of her father's.

Our first child (Betsy) had a great time playing with Kathleen's parents' two dogs. The "pack" roamed the house, barked at noises outside, fought over toys, and then finally napped together.

Baby of the Dance!

We went out to see some live Celtic music tonight (Burning Bridget Cleary) and Owen danced a jig in Kathleen's belly. I think he liked the pounding percussion!

Owen @ 20 Weeks

Some more pictures from our ultrasound the other day:

I think I heard the doctor say that he is perfect.

And our baby boy's name is...

Owen Patrick.

Kathleen had the name picked out a while ago. And who am I to argue ... it's a wonderful name!

A Boy or a Girl?

Tomorrow, we (might) get to find out the sex of the baby! Kathleen has been anxious about finding out the sex and she's going to be really disappointed if we're not able to tomorrow. Hopefully, the baby will cooperate and be turned the right way! So, hopefully, our next post will include some big news!

Registry Details

We bought a cute safari crib set at JC Penneys and added some matching bedding items to the registry while we were there. So, now there should definitely be some in-store items on the JC Penneys registry. Here is a picture of the crib set - it's really cute (picture is off the packaging - not our nursery).

But if you can't find stuff on the registry in the store, just remember that our theme is safari/jungle animal babies - colors are yellow and green. We haven't registered for any clothes. We are just expecting people to buy clothes for us. After we find out the sex (in a little over a week), we might add some more items to the registry.

More details of the registry are below (on March 18, 2009). The baby's due date is Aug. 14 (in case you need that to look up the registry online).
